Apsute’gan Arts
Owned and operated by Vanessa Dedam of Elsipogtog First Nation.
Vanessa Dedam, a proud Mi’kmaq artist and entrepreneur.
I specialize in traditional and contemporary Mi’kmaq art, focusing primarily on acrylic painting and intricate beadwork. My beadwork includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and occasional embellishments on clothing, each piece crafted with intention and heart.
My art is more than visual, it's a form of storytelling. Every creation reflects my personality, my culture, and my journey. As I continue learning and exploring, I’m expanding into other cultural crafts, guided by tradition and creativity.
I’m also an aspiring author, currently working toward publishing my first novel. My mission is to inspire healing, self-love, and connection through the beauty of Indigenous art and stories.
You can find and support my work on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok, with YouTube and Lemon8 coming soon. My pieces have been showcased at Sacred Arts and the Wolastoq Wharf.
I aim to be a jack of all trades, an artist, storyteller, and cultural ambassador, sharing the raw beauty that inspires me: music, mental health, resilience, and identity.
